Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. If you are a person that doesn’t care about your mental health then this job is for you! Otherwise stay away! The best part about working for Yelp is the benefits.

Please save your the stress and aggravation.

This job will have you sooo stressed out. They bombard you with one on ones and team meeting throughout the day but you are still somehow required to hit 80 calls and 2hrs of talk time. They willĬonstantly micromanage you literally talking in your ear while you’re trying to get a sale it’s so annoying. I never had a sales job where I need four sales in order to see commission. Also if my customer decided not to pay their bill or decided to cancel before 3 months I end up owing the company money which is insane! Management is also no help they just try to cover they butts and do what they are told from upper management. This role will make you feel like a telemarketer. In the beginning they put up this façade that they care about employees work/life balance and mental health but it’s all a lie. I have been in sales over 10 years and this is absolutely the worst sales company I have ever worked for. We want to give you the support you need to be successful and help you feel confident in the valuable work that you do every day. We recommend that you share any questions or frustrations you’re having with your manager. Most folks find that when they stick to what they learn during their training, they can successfully connect with business owners to share the value and power of Yelp Advertising. With that being said, cold-calling is a tough task, not just at Yelp, but anywhere you do it, however, where we are different is in our training and curriculum, as well as the ongoing coaching and development that managers provide to their teams. We want to make sure that everyone who comes onboard has a solid understanding of the highs and lows a career in sales can bring. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us! The Account Executive role is certainly one of the more challenging at Yelp, which is an expectation we go to great lengths to set during our interview process. Thank you again for your feedback, and we encourage you to lean on your manager if you have any questions or concerns. While cold calling is a challenging task not just at Yelp, but in at any company, where we're different is in our training and curriculum, as well as the ongoing coaching and development that managers provide to their teams. We know this approach is not for everyone, but we've created a successful and supportive environment through this strategy. While we understand it can be challenging to be held accountable to specific metrics on a daily basis, we know that this is the best way one can be successful in sales. Sometimes that can look like various one-on-one conversations throughout the day, and setting sales quotas that encourage people to continually improve. The managers at Yelp are devoted to the career growth of each individual here. We are proud of the fact that our product works for local businesses, and it's our goal to give every employee the resources they need to succeed and to hit the ground running on day one. Thank you for your feedback! We understand that the Account Executive role is one of the more challenging at Yelp, and it's not easy to read that you didn't see the value of your work or our products and services. The "typical" rep usually gets deals through new biz, ones who are already interested, or biz owners who just happened to be desperate for leads that they'd come to Yelp for them. Honestly, comparison isn't fair since people are calling in different areas, some people get more new biz than others, and our leads are burnt to the ground.īut to be fair, if you're good at this job and can sell Yelp to biz owners who've been burnt before, you can sell ice to an eskimo. Quota is high, difficult to reach, you get compared to everyday and its rough. I truly do feel bad since even when you onboard them as best as possible, they still lose money. Doesn't help you're selling to everyone and anyone who's eligible for ads. It works sometimes for some categories in high populated areas, but it doesn't most of the time. Product is sub-par, most of my deals/clients who signed up usually cancel in a month or less. Cold calling biz owners that hate us, once in awhile you get a new biz that you'll be able to sell to lmao.
